Common questions

• I forgot my password.

  Fethr accounts are not tied to an email address, so there is no reset link to send. Get back in through the identity you signed up with:

  Open Fethr and tap Continue with Apple or Continue with Google — the same one you used originally. Then, within ten minutes, go to Settings → Change password, leave the current password blank, and set a new one. After that you can sign in with your @handle and that password anywhere.

  If you no longer have access to that Apple or Google account, write to us with your handle.

• Is anything I record visible to other people?

  No. Your timeline, events, pinboards, and saved places are private and have no audience at all. The only thing that can be shared is a journal entry you deliberately share, and you can unshare it at any time. The privacy policy spells this out in full.

• Why is Fethr asking for my location, camera, or microphone?

  Only for the thing you just tapped: location for a check-in or to geotag a photo taken in the app, the camera and photo library for photos, the microphone for a voice record, and speech recognition for its transcript. Every one is optional, none runs in the background, and declining one only turns off that feature. You can change them any time in iOS Settings → Fethr.

• How do I delete my account?

  In the app: Settings → Delete account. Two confirmations, then your account and everything in it are permanently deleted — immediately, with no recovery. If you cannot reach that screen, email us from an account you control and we will do it.

• A record is on the wrong day or at the wrong time.

  Long-press a record on the timeline and drag it to where it belongs. To change an event’s span, drag the grips at the edge of its outline. Journal entries can be backdated when you write them.

• My widget is out of date.

  Widgets show a snapshot the app saves when you use it, so they refresh after you next open Fethr, and on iOS’s own schedule. A check-in made from the Quick Check-in widget is saved right away, even if the widget takes a moment to catch up.

• Something is broken, or I have an idea.

  Email us. It reaches the person who builds the app. Telling us your @handle, your iPhone model, and what you were doing when it went wrong makes it much faster to fix.

What Fethr is

Record first, shape it later. Drop a line of text, a photo, a voice note, or where you are into one private timeline; group a stretch of it into an event when it turns out to mean something; arrange the pieces on a pinboard, or write the day out properly in the journal. Nothing has an audience unless you give it one.
